What are steroids?

Steroids are developed for use in medicine. Steroids come in two forms: anabolic steroids and corticosteroids. Anabolic steroids work just like male sex hormones. Doctors use them to treat problems such as late puberty, significant muscle loss in cancer patients and aids. But they are often used by muscle builders to increase the effectiveness of the exercise, especially the athletes who use it to win. Corticosteroids are less controversial.

It does not build muscle. They are used to treat things like allergic reactions and autoimmune diseases. Cortisone is an example that doctors use to treat pain and swelling associated with skin conditions such as insect bite and poison oak. Prednisone is another corticosteroid used to treat autoimmune diseases including lupus and arthritis.

Benefits of steroids in bodybuilding

     Increased Muscle Strength

A recent study by Rogerston et al (2007) demonstrated the efficacy of the drug. These authors show that testosterone enanthate, the most commonly used (and abused) form of testosterone, increases the power of the bench and cycling in healthy people compared to placebo.

Previous research has shown that such effects are usually achieved within 6 to 12 weeks of treatment, but researchers have demonstrated significant efficiencies within 3 weeks. These surprising results suggest that using steroids can dramatically increase muscle strength.

     Increase body size

Studies by Rogerston et al. Also showed that steroid use increased body size. In fact, a large number of studies support the search. A well-performed experiment by Giorgi et al.

(2009) described such studies. The second author examined the effects of testosterone enanthate in healthy weight coaches. Testosterone significantly increases body mass, bicep circumference and quadricep circumference. This study also showed an increase in "tightness" in the abdomen. This finding is not normal, however, since most studies do not show the effect of fat reduction of steroid use (Hartgens and Kuipers, 2004).

What do steroids do for athletes?

The athletic benefits of anabolic steroids are primarily related to increased protein production and reduced recovery time after exercise by inhibiting muscle tissue metabolism. Anabolic steroids also promote cell differentiation to limit the amount of cells that ultimately develop into fatty cells.

The cellular differentiation supported by anabolic steroids facilitates weight management in athletes while maximizing the strength and endurance of muscle growth. Furthermore, decreasing fat storage means that the metabolism of an athlete increases naturally, as BMR muscle activity increases. This will help athletes maintain a healthy weight / height.

For fitness coaches, the benefits of steroids in fitness provide the same benefits as athletes - greater stamina, increased muscle, cramped body and shorter recovery time. Anabolic steroids also promote erythropoiesis, which promotes muscle health by providing more oxygen and nutrients for muscle tissue. The Benefits of Steroids in the Baseball Player In addition to helping build muscle and endurance, anabolic steroids can also enhance "masculinity" or aggressive behavior in baseball players and general sports players.

Testosterone boosts competition among athletes by activating amygdala in ways that increase its resistance to higher brain centers. In other words, the anabolic steroids and testosterone stimulate the sub areas of the brain responsible for creating aggressive behavior while suppressing newer, more sensible parts of the brain. Eventually players use it because they see a big change in their athletic and physical abilities.

Benefits of steroids in medicine

Anabolic steroids are usually used to:

• Helps people gain weight or maintain a healthy weight after an illness or injury • Treatment for breast cancer and anemia

• Reduces swelling of the legs, face, arms and throat due to allergic angioedema

• Improves calcium deposition in osteoporosis patients

• Increases body hair volume, boosts voice and promotes the development of prostate gland in adolescents diagnosed with late puberty.

• Fighting obstruction of blood

Benefits of steroids for men

When anabolic steroids are given to men under the age of 35, body mass and muscle strength as well as body size increase, sometimes without regular exercise. In addition, anabolic steroids improve endurance of the muscles to work out the weight while protecting the body against overload damage.

The benefits of using steroids for men over the age of 40 are related to the synthesis of collagen and bone tissue that increase bone mineral density to offset the effects of osteoporosis and bone growth. Steroid therapy can also prevent sarcopenia, an age-related condition that contributes to falls, weakness and weakness. Hypogonadal men will also benefit from the ability of steroids to restore normal levels of hormones, increase muscle mass and contribute to healthy bone density.

Steroids increase risk

It is irresponsible to describe the benefits of steroids without mentioning the risks associated with their use. Hartgens and Kuipers (2004) present both the positive and negative effects of enhanced medicine resulting in excellent review of steroid materials. The authors note that using testosterone increases unwanted sexual desire and aggression as well as blurring acne and hair.

Boosters also alter the internal hormonal environment throughout (and several months later) their use. The most relevant of all, however, is the adverse side effects of anabolic steroids. Exogenous testosterone increases resting blood pressure and lowers "good" cholesterol levels. In addition, steroids alter the structure and function of the heart.
